BalVET-EWEC- The Education-Work-Entrepreneurship Chain Model for VET in the Western Balkans

BalVET-EWEC Erasmus-EDU-2022-CB-VET — Erasmus+ Capacity Building in VET -101092499, an initiative aimed at addressing the brain drain from the Western Balkans by equipping young people with the skills needed for the modern workforce. The project seeks to retain talent in the region by establishing "Living Labs" in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Montenegro. These labs serve as experimental spaces for formal and non-formal education, fostering collaboration and innovation across borders.

Key objectives include:

  1. Training Educators: Transforming teachers into learning facilitators who mentor students in acquiring skills and entrepreneurial mindsets.
  2. Youth Skill Development: Equipping young people (ages 16-28) with transversal skills like critical thinking, communication, and creativity, vital for thriving in post-pandemic labor markets.
  1. Cross-Border Collaboration: Promoting cooperation between different sectors and countries to address societal challenges and support innovation.
  2. Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation: Preparing young people to create new products, services, and jobs through entrepreneurship and social initiatives.
  3. Mobility: Encouraging cross-border movement for both educators and learners, facilitating peer learning and collaboration.

The project supports the transition of young people into adulthood, making them active citizens, successful workers, and contributors to the region’s economic development. The initiative aligns with broader European goals, such as sustainability, digitalization, and the greening of society. The "Knowledge Exchange Platform" (KEP) underpins these activities by providing a virtual hub for training, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
