UDG project team participated in Smart Consortium Meeting in Milan!

The Smart project Consortium held on 18th and 19th March in Milan, Italy, graciously hosted by Politecnico di Milano.

The event brought together brilliant minds and innovative projects aimed at shaping the future of European cohesion and sustainable development. On the first day, we were privileged to witness thought-provoking presentations and discussions:
Emanuela Colombo and Diana Shendrikova illuminated the importance of “Science as a Strategic Axis in Cooperation and a Guide for Informed Policies,” offering invaluable perspectives for fostering European cohesion.

Daniele Sangiorgi’s insightful discussion on the Piacenza critical study shed light on its relevance to S3, enriching our understanding of regional development strategies.
Roberto Randazzo‘s exploration of “Impact & Sustainable Finance” and the ESG regulatory framework highlighted crucial aspects of responsible investment for a sustainable future.
Francesca Fiore passionately advocated for “Fostering Excellence: Empowering and Supporting Women in STEM Entrepreneurship, Management, and Profession,” inspiring us all to champion gender equality in STEM fields.
Throughout the day, key messages reverberated, emphasizing the significance of Science Diplomacy, Analysis of Production Ecosystems, Environmental Sustainability, Social Governance, and Gender Equality Measurement.
We were also privileged to witness the progress made by our WP leaders and actively participated in enriching workshops aimed at driving impactful change.

The momentum continued into the second day as we embarked on further presentations and had the honor of visiting the Innovation Center Giulio Natta, where the Lombard landscape was ingeniously replicated through the intelligent utilization of European resources. It was a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration in creating sustainable solutions for our shared future.

As we reflect on our time in Milan, we are filled with optimism and determination to continue our collective efforts in driving positive change. Together, we are shaping a brighter, more sustainable future for Europe and beyond. Let’s keep the momentum going!
