BalVET - EWEC Regional Workshop and Project Consortium Meeting at the University of Donja Gorica
The University of Donja Gorica (UDG) organized a two-day regional training from December 10 to 11 as part of the BalVET - EWEC project (The Education-Work-Entrepreneurship Chain Model for VET in the Western Balkans). The training took place at UDG's Entrepreneurial Nest, bringing together nearly 70 students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo, as well as partners from the region and European Union countries—Lithuania and Estonia.
The BalVET - EWEC project, co-funded by the European Union, aims to enhance the connection between education, work, and entrepreneurship by empowering educational institutions and youth in the Western Balkans.
In addition to the student training, a project consortium meeting was held, bringing together the following institutions:
- University of Donja Gorica (Montenegro)
- Association Aktyvistai (Lithuania)
- Global Skills Network (Estonia)
- Institute of Collaboration for Integration and Development (Albania)
- Sarajevo School for Science and Technology (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- Universum College (Kosovo)
The two-day training program was opened by Prof. Dr. Maja Drakić-Grgur, Dean of the Faculty of International Economics, Finance, and Business at UDG. She welcomed the participants and provided introductory remarks on the project's significance for developing entrepreneurial and educational potential in the region.
Mr. Karolis Stirbys, the project coordinator, introduced participants to the goals and activities of the project through the presentation Introducing BalVET - EWEC.
During the training, lectures and workshops were conducted by experts from various fields:

Participants learned how to build and strengthen their personal brand and position themselves in a competitive job market.
· Dr. Ivan Jovetić, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Management at UDG
Topic: International Entrepreneurship & StartUp Ecosystem
The lecture covered key elements for developing a startup ecosystem and the potential for international entrepreneurship.
· Dr. Bojana Mališić, Head of the International Cooperation Office at UDG
Topic: Inter-Project Coaching: SMART & BalVET - EWEC
She discussed synergies between different projects, highlighting inter-project mentoring and the exchange of good practices.
· Mr. Danilo Bulatović, University of Donja Gorica
Topic: Promoting Good Practices: International Market of Entrepreneurial Ideas
The lecture provided insights into the importance of the international market for entrepreneurial ideas and successful implementation examples from practice.
· Darko Ivanović, Co-Founder of Digital Den
Topic: Business Talks
This session focused on innovative approaches to business in a digital environment, where students had the opportunity to discuss challenges and opportunities in the modern business world.
The training aimed to empower youth by connecting educational and business communities, promoting an entrepreneurial spirit, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences between different countries.
As part of the event, a project consortium meeting was held, where partners reviewed the current progress of the project, planned upcoming activities, and discussed further development of the model linking education, work, and entrepreneurship in the region.
The University of Donja Gorica proudly leads such initiatives that foster regional cooperation, knowledge and experience exchange, and contribute to strengthening the capacities of young people for the labor market within the contemporary European context.
