UDG became a member of the United Nations Academic Impact Community (UNAI)
The University of Donja Gorica is becoming part of a community of about 1,500 institutions in 147 countries working with the United Nations to promote global priorities.
The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) is an initiative that connects higher education institutions with the United Nations in order to support and contribute to the realization of the goals and mandate of the United Nations. The support is aimed at the promotion and protection of peace and human rights, the provision of high quality and accessible education, and special emphasis is placed on issues of sustainable development and effective conflict resolution.
The work of these institutions is vital to achieving the goals defined by the strategies that enable sustainable development. Cooperation between the UN and selected universities serves as an incubator for new ideas and solutions to many of the global challenges we face. The academic influence of the United Nations provides an integral link with stakeholders, in order to ensure a secure space in which the international community has the opportunity to put the innovation, energy and creativity of young people into action. This initiative truly believes in the importance of creating a research community that works in the service of humanity.
UDG, since its founding, has nurtured many of the UN values; primarily a commitment to the concept of an internationally united society in which the students of today are responsible citizens of the global world of the future. Student life at UDG is organized in such a way that it promotes, encourages and addresses intercultural communication and breaking down prejudices and stereotypes on a daily basis.
