UDG at Regional Conference – Bridging the Digital Skill Gap within BalVET-EWEC project
On November 21, 2024, the University of Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) hosted the event "Bridging the Digital Skill Gap", welcoming students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, and Albania. Tvelwe student from UDG participated in event.
Organized as part of the Education-Work-Entrepreneurship Chain Model for VET in the Western Balkans project, the event was a collaborative effort by BalVET-WEEC partners: "Aktyvistams" (Coordinator, Lithuania), Global Skills Network (Estonia), SSST (Bosnia and Herzegovina), University of Donja Gorica (Montenegro), and "Universium" College (Kosovo).
The event featured a keynote speech, a panel discussion, and a session on good practices, offering an engaging platform to address the digital skills gap and its impact on vocational education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
The event highlighted the importance of regional and international partnerships in addressing the digital skills gap, fostering innovation, and building a culture of entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans. It served as a testament to the power of collaboration in preparing students and professionals for the challenges of an evolving digital economy. To further close the digital skills gap, it is essential to implement targeted educational programs that align with industry needs and promote lifelong learning opportunities. Additionally, increased investment in infrastructure and access to digital tools will ensure inclusivity and enable broader participation in the region's digital transformation.
