On June 7, 2024, as the summer sun bathed the Montenegro University Sports and Cultural Center, the preliminary round of the 2024 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition in the Montenegro division concluded successfully. Three students from the Tourism Confucius Classroom at University of Donja Gorica stood out in the fierce competition. Petar Pajović won first place in the elementary school group, Ivan Aranitović won first place in the university group, and Arnad Lekić won second place in the university group.

This event, meticulously organized by the Confucius Institute at University of Montenegro, attracted 14 participants from different age groups. The competition was divided into three categories: elementary school, secondary school, and university. It aimed to select the most promising Chinese learners through comprehensive assessments of Chinese language proficiency, knowledge of Chinese culture, and talent demonstrations.

Petar Pajović, who won first place in the elementary school group, delivered a vivid and heartfelt speech on "Chinese, Joy & Fun!" sharing his experiences of living in China with fluent Chinese. His engaging presentation won rounds of applause. In the talent show segment, he showcased his passion and dedication to learning Chinese with a calligraphy piece, "Happy Learning Chinese."

Ivan Aranitović, who won first place in the university group, delivered a passionate speech on "One World, One Family," expressing his deep love for the Chinese language and culture. His speech conveyed his firm belief in achieving the concept of "One World, One Family" through language exchange. In the talent show segment, Ivan's recitation of the classical poem "Spring River in the Flower Moon Night" vividly conveyed the charm and emotion of the ancient verse, earning high praise from the judges.

Arnad Lekić, who won second place in the university group, also shared his insights on learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture under the theme "One World, One Family." He expressed his profound understanding of this concept and his anticipation for cross-cultural communication and friendship. In the talent show segment, Arnad's calligraphy of "One World, One Family" in seal script not only showcased his calligraphy skills but also conveyed his beautiful vision for world peace and unity.

With the successful conclusion of the competition, Petar and Ivan will represent the Montenegro division in the "Chinese Bridge" global finals in China, while Arnad will travel to China to observe the global finals. We look forward to seeing them shine on the international stage, becoming bridges and ambassadors for cultural exchange between China and Montenegro.
