Application for an interactive museum developed as part of the graduate work of a student at the FDM

Barbara Milakovic, a student at the University of Donja Gorica, developed an application that offers a new experience to museum visitors as part of her graduate work at the Faculty of Design and Multimedia.

The application of the Art Museum of Montenegro will use technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, multimedia content and the like in order to attract visitors, make them explore and learn in a more interesting and interactive way, which would lead to the opening of the first interactive museums in Montenegro. The advantage of this application is reflected in the fact that it is intended for a wide sector of the audience, including children and adults.

The application includes the ability to buy tickets online, follow news about culture, new exhibitions and the like. As well as using the AR/VR segment (augmented reality/virtual reality) where visitors have the opportunity to interact with the artwork (they can get information about the work itself, try filters or watch some interesting animations). In addition, the application offers the option of customizing. This would be reflected in the ability to adjust the application in the form of text size, color contrast, and the like in order to adapt to people with impaired vision. Features such as screen readers, text-to-speech and subtitles to make content accessible to the hearing-impaired users.

In this way, the application offers an innovative and attractive way of learning about various topics. It offers visitors a unique and unforgettable experience that can stimulate curiosity and long-term learning. The goal is to make museums more interactive, interest visitors, especially the younger generation, and enable them to learn more about the culture and history of Montenegro through interaction with the works of art.
